The Eiffel Tower is the featured attraction of the Paris skyline, which can be seen from the balconies and windows of the best hotels in Paris. While hotels near the Eiffel Tower may cost a fair amount of Euros, staying at a 5-star hotel will make your trip unforgettable. For example, the rooms at the Shangri-La Hotel are the quintessence of luxury, as are those at the Elysées Régencia, with its Art Nouveau-style lounge.

However, the Hôtel Palais De Chaillot offers first-class accommodations at a very reasonable price. Located in Paris’s Trocadero neighborhood, Hotel Palais De Chaillot is close to the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. The 31 air-conditioned rooms include complimentary newspapers and hair dryers; 32-inch LCD televisions equipped with premium cable channels; and in-room complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access. Beds have Select Comfort mattresses, down comforters, and premium bedding. Guests can even select their choice of pillow from a “pillow menu.” The hotel was completely renovated in 2010.

Also near the Tower is the Franklin Roosevelt Hotel, named after the American President who liberated France from German occupation during WWII. Ideally located between Avenue des Champs Elysées and Avenue Montaign, the Hotel Franklin Roosevelt was entirely renovated in 2003, updating the rooms with free Wi-Fi, LCD TVs, minibars, larger windows and separate seating areas. The glass-roofed lounge serves pastries fresh every morning. The Chambiges Elysées, located in the chic 8th district in central Paris, offers elegant rooms soundproofed to keep out noise from the nearby bustling Champs Elysées Avenue. All rooms come with satellite TV, minibar and a coffee maker. The hotel is situated at the heart of the famous “Triangle d’Or,” with Montaigne avenue and its luxury boutiques, cabarets, and the best restaurants and nightclubs all within easy walking distance. The Eiffel Tower is open from mid June through late August. Tourists can visit it seven days a week, including major holidays. Visiting the Tower requires some stamina, so plan on bringing your walking shoes. The Eiffel Tower has three levels, accessible by both stairs and a lift. The first and second levels can be reached by stairs and lift. The third level can only be accessed by lift. If you plan to reach the first and second level by stairs, be prepared for a long hike. You must climb 328 stairs to reach the first level and 340 more stairs to reach the second level. Once you reach the third level there are 15 more steps to the upper observation deck.

Eateries on the Tower

Visitors to Eiffel Tower hotels can enjoy fine Parisian cuisine at the tower’s two restaurants.  Altitude 95 is located on the first floor, 95 meters above sea level. At Altitude 95 you can view the Paris skyline and surrounding sites of Paris. The restaurant serves traditional French cuisine during lunch and dinner. If you just like to relax before dining, you can have a drink at Altitude 95’s bar Jules Verne restaurant, located on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower serves some of the most expensive cuisine in all of Paris. The restaurant serves both gourmet and traditional French cuisine, but the chef also prepares special orders for visitors.  Like Altitude 95, Jules Verne offers a great view of Paris. Reservations at both restaurants are competitive, so you must make your reservation prior to your visit to the tower.

Tourists flock to stay at the many Eiffel Tower hotels to capture the view. From the top of the tower, which is about 1,000 feet above sea level, visitors can observe famous Parisian culture and monuments. In full view are the illuminated bridges that cross the River Seine, the Tuileries Garden, the Grand Palais, Paris’ summer Ferris wheel, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, and the Pantheon.
